ISHI uses recycled materials where possible and implements low and zero waste processes. We believe these practices are not only beneficial for our planet but also our mindset and outlook.
Sterling silver
925 Sterling Silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other materials, usually copper.
Care
- If you wish to keep your piece in brilliant condition, we recommend that pieces are seldom worn in water and that all pieces should be polished regularly to help with tarnishing and oxidization.
- A soft bristle brush with a little liquid soap or polishing cloth will keep your pieces in great condition.
- Remove your jewelry before exercising, washing your hands or showering. Always apply perfumes, creams and hair care products before wearing. To clean, polish gently with a silver cloth. Store individually in a safe, dry place when not worn as oxygen can oxidize jewelry over time.
- Please always handle your ISHI piece with love and care as they are hand crafted and one-of-a-kind
Gold Vermeil
Vermeil (pronounced: ver-may) is a legally regulated term that refers to a standard or jewelry plating. To achieve this distinctive finish and to meet the federal code for vermeil, the jewelry piece must meet all of these conditions:
- Have sterling silver as its base material.
- Be plated in gold that is at least 10k (10 karats). That means the gold is at least 41.7% gold content.
- Have gold plating that is at least 2.5 microns thick (100 millionths) of gold over sterling silver.
These thick gold plating standards ensure long-lasting wear.
Care
- If you wish to keep your piece in brilliant condition, we recommend that vermeil pieces are removed before before exercising, washing your hands or showering to maintain the longevity of the gold plating. Always apply perfumes, creams and hair care products before wearing.
- To clean your vermeil pieces, buff gently with a dry cloth. Store individually in a safe, dry place when not worn as oxygen can oxidize jewelry over time. This will help to keep your pieces in great condition
- Please always handle your ISHI piece with love and care as they are hand crafted and one-of-a-kind
